This educational module is designed to increase knowledge related to intermittent catheterization teaching. It is part 3 of a 3-part series. The learner will be able to:
- Define the characteristics of urinary catheters used for intermittent catheterization (IC)
- Identify specific catheter components including, size, length, and tip configurations
- List the various catheter materials noting the advantages and disadvantages
- Describe the documentation need to ensure the most appropriate catheter for an individual patient
- Understand problems that can occur with reusing catheters for multiple catheterizations
