How does the MyOstomyLife app support telehealth care for ostomy patients?
If your practice qualifies*, you might be able to receive reimbursement for time you spend reviewing information uploaded to the EMR via the MyOstomyLife app. The HIPAA compliant digital diary allows patients to track their ostomy routines and peristomal skin changes and can summarize in a report.
Now you can:
- Ask patients to track and upload their diary report of skin condition, stoma complications or leakage when they change their pouch.
- Monitor the status of their stoma.
- Review pictures of peristomal skin changes in the EMR in order to adjust treatment plan.
- Rewrite prescriptions of ostomy supplies for a better fit or schedule an office visit if necessary.
